Vietnamese Prime Minister meets Russian President at the Kremlin

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin in Moscow on Wednesday, within the framework of his official visit to Russia.

At the meeting, President Putin and Prime Minister Chinh highly agreed on the need to continue strengthening political trust through exchanges of delegations at all levels and through all channels: Party, State, Government, Parliament, localities, businesses, and people-to-people channel. They stressed the need to maintain the effectiveness of existing cooperation mechanisms, including the Intergovernmental Committee on economic–trade and scientific–technical cooperation, while studying the establishment of new cooperation frameworks.

Both sides committed to promoting economic, trade, and investment cooperation, encouraging and facilitating businesses from both countries to conduct business and make investment, boosting business connectivity, diversifying markets and supply chains. They identified cooperation in energy and oil and gas, science and technology, innovation, and infrastructure development as key areas aligned with each country's development needs.

Both supported strengthening cooperation and expanding investment and operations between the two countries' energy and oil and gas enterprises, in accordance with international law. They agreed on the need to enhance cooperation in military technology, security, and science and technology, beef up people-to-people exchanges, and facilitate travel for citizens of both countries, thereby boosting tourism.

President Putin and Prime Minister Chinh shared views on regional and global issues of mutual concern and agreed on closer coordination and mutual support in multilateral forums such as the United Nations and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), contributing to peace, cooperation, and development.

The meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin was the final activity of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh during his official visit to Russia from March 22-25 at the invitation of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. On Wednesday evening, Prime Minister Chinh and the high-level Vietnamese delegation departed Moscow for home, successfully concluding their trip.
