(VOVWORLD) - Household waste is one of the main sources of environmental pollution. But that waste can be turned into useful things like fertilizer and gasoline. That’s the goal of a pilot waste treatment plant at a landfill in the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang run by mechanic Vo Hoai Phong.

(VOVWORLD) - 44-year-old Huynh Thanh Hung of Tan Thanh commune, Ca Mau city, has been involved in farming since he was a child. Hung now owns a ferret farm which earns him a profit of 60,000 USD a year.

(VOVWORLD) - Tra Dong bronze casting village in Thieu Hoa district is located 12 km northwest of the central city of Thanh Hoa. The village is famous for casting bronze drums, a musical instrument that symbolizes power and religion. 60-year-old emeritus artisan Nguyen Ba Chau has done his best to revive the traditional bronze casting techniques of Vietnam’s ancient people.

This album was brought to life by Vietnamese-American sound engineer Chris Nguyen, whose real name is Nguyen Khac Quang. Born in 1999 in Ho Chi Minh City, Chris now lives and works in Los Angeles in the US.

(VOVWORLD) - Although his legs are paralyzed, 35-year-old Pham Quang Khoat is known for his wholehearted support for people with disabilities over the past 16 years. Khoat is now Vice Chairman of Hanoi’s Disabled People Association and Chairman of Hoang Mai district’s Disabled People Association.

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese Sieu Nguyen, an editor at the multinational media and entertainment company HBO, has contributed to the success of many movies.

(VOVWORLD) - Dao Trong Ly, a 74-year-old Vietnamese living in Thailand, has painted more than 150 portraits of President Ho Chi Minh. The paintings were displayed at a recent exhibition in Hanoi to celebrate the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday which falls on May 19.
