The visit comes shortly after Vietnam and Côte d’Ivoire celebrated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025, reflecting their shared determination to open a new chapter in bilateral ties, particularly in parliamentary and economic cooperation.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said the two countries have maintained fruitful cooperation through various channels, with parliamentary relations emerging as a highlight.
The upcoming trip will be the second visit to Vietnam by a President of the Côte d’Ivoire National Assembly in three years and the first time the Ivorian legislature has sent a delegation to Vietnam to study and exchange experience with the Vietnamese National Assembly.
During the visit, Mr. Achi is scheduled to meet Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, hold talks with National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man, and meet other senior Vietnamese leaders.
