Following the flag-saluting ceremony, NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man delivered the opening speech, highlighting the success of the recent NA and People’s Council elections. He said the elections reaffirmed public trust in the Party and the State, while enhancing Vietnam’s image and international standing.
“The National Assembly will consider and decide on the organizational structure, elect, and approve high-level personnel of the state apparatus. This is the central task of the session, which is vital for the quality and effectiveness of the state’s operations throughout the term,” said Chairman Man.
In his remarks, Party General Secretary To Lam said the session would focus on consolidating the state apparatus and institutionalizing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, laying the legal and policy foundation for a new phase of rapid and sustainable national development.
Also on Monday morning, deputies elected the chairman of the 16th NA.
During the session, lawmakers will consider and decide on organizational and personnel matters, eight draft laws and one resolution, as well as five groups of issues related to socio-economic development, finance, the state budget, supervision and other key matters.
The session is scheduled to last 11 working days, divided into two phases from April 6 to 12 and April 20 to 23.
