UN-Arab League envoy Lakhdar Brahimi has said the situation in Syria is getting worse and a peacekeeping force is needed. Speaking to the UN Security Council yesterday, Brahimi said Syria has not found any internal solutions to the crisis.

The region is incapable of helping Syria find a peaceful solution. Brahimi said a peaceful solution can only be initiated by the UN Security Council via a resolution which demands the establishment of a transitional government.
