In a lengthy article, Izvestia (iz.ru) said the visit would go down in history as it was the first time since 1991 that a Vietnamese leader concurrently serving as General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and President has visited Russia.

Kommersant.ru ran an article saying the visit had opened up additional opportunities for bilateral cooperation in new areas.
