Meeting Kenji Okamura, IMF Deputy Managing Director in Hanoi on Thursday, Prime Minister Chinh said Vietnam always appreciates the IMF’s active and effective support in its process of renewal, opening up, and international integration. This support has made an important contribution to strengthening macroeconomic stability, controlling inflation, promoting growth, and improving macroeconomic management and operation capacity, according to Mr. Chinh.

Mr. Okamura said the IMF delegation's visit to Vietnam this time aims to learn more about Vietnam's path to success and promote the IMF’s long-standing relationship with Vietnam through practical activities and projects.

He said the IMF’s voice with international financial institutions will help Vietnam mobilize external resources for major programs and projects.
