During a National Assembly discussion as part of the first session of the 16th National Assembly in Hanoi, the top leader said the revision of the Capital City Law is not simply about perfecting a law but also about creating a new institutional model for the development of Hanoi. The Capital City must be granted higher authority and higher responsibility, he added. With a special mechanism, it must produce outstanding results. Hanoi must be a model of modern, transparent, and responsible governance, according to Mr. Lam.
On Wednesday, National Assembly deputies also discussed in groups the Draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Emulation and Commendation and the revised Draft Law on Beliefs and Religions.
