(VOVWORLD) - Dong Xam village in Thai Binh province has long been renowned for its silversmithing. War veteran Dinh Quang Thang has been training a new generation of young artisans.

(VOVWORLD) - Fifty years ago, in 1975, driven by the spirit of "one day equals twenty years," with an ever-increasing speed, Vietnam People's Army forces traversed thousands of kilometers to liberate Saigon. Within this rapid advance, soldier drivers including Colonel Nguyen Van Ninh of the General Department of Logistics bravely and steadfastly overcame immense hardships to ensure troops arrived at the battlefield ahead of schedule.

(VOVWORLD) - The liberation flag hoisted atop the enemy’s headquarters in Buon Ma Thuot city during the Central Highlands campaign in 1975, is a sacred relic and a symbol of national pride. On this flag is an inscription made by a soldier named Hoang Phuc Hung to mark the victory of the Bac Thai unit at 11:00 AM on March 11, 1975. 50 years later this is a cherished memory of veteran Hoang Phuc Hung.

(VOVWORLD) - Veteran Ngo Xuan Tu of Hanoi has spent 20 years on the battlefield. After being discharged from the army, he returned home and established a vocational training workshop, providing jobs and stable income for many disadvantaged individuals.

(VOVWORLD) - Nguyen Hong Phong of Hanoi is a role model for war invalids running a successful business. After returning from the battlefield with war wounds, Phong persevered through hardships to excel in business. His efforts have not only secured a stable income for his family but have inspired many others to overcome their own difficult circumstances.

(VOVWORLD) - Dr. Huynh Huu Nguyen, Head of the Specialized Surgery Department at Military Hospital 120 in the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang is renowned for his expertise in eye surgery. Nguyen has restored the vision of more than 2,500 cataract patients.

(VOVWORLD) - Doctor, PhD Bui Ngoc Lan, Director of the Cancer Centre under the Vietnam National Children’s Hospital, is known to be a modest, approachable person and devoted to her profession and patients. Lan is one of the leading pediatric oncologists in Vietnam today.

(VOVWORLD) - While maintaining her ethnic group’s traditional craft of embroidering and sewing, Tan My Xuan, a Dao woman from mountainous Lai Chau province, has modified the traditional costumes of her group. Her modernized costumes have been welcomed by Dao people and have created job opportunities for other local women.

(VOVWORLD) - Ly Thi Quyen of the Dao ethnic group in Bac Kan province has helped to turn local handicrafts into a profitable business. Quyen founded the Thien An Cooperative, which employs many local women and promotes Dao culture to tourists.
