On this flag is an inscription made by a soldier named Hoang Phuc Hung to mark the victory of the Bac Thai unit at 11:00 AM on March 11, 1975. 50 years later this is a cherished memory of veteran Hoang Phuc Hung.

(VOVWORLD) - Dr. Huynh Huu Nguyen, Head of the Specialized Surgery Department at Military Hospital 120 in the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang is renowned for his expertise in eye surgery. Nguyen has restored the vision of more than 2,500 cataract patients.

(VOVWORLD) - Doctor, PhD Bui Ngoc Lan, Director of the Cancer Centre under the Vietnam National Children’s Hospital, is known to be a modest, approachable person and devoted to her profession and patients. Lan is one of the leading pediatric oncologists in Vietnam today.

(VOVWORLD) - While maintaining her ethnic group’s traditional craft of embroidering and sewing, Tan My Xuan, a Dao woman from mountainous Lai Chau province, has modified the traditional costumes of her group. Her modernized costumes have been welcomed by Dao people and have created job opportunities for other local women.

(VOVWORLD) - Ly Thi Quyen of the Dao ethnic group in Bac Kan province has helped to turn local handicrafts into a profitable business. Quyen founded the Thien An Cooperative, which employs many local women and promotes Dao culture to tourists.

(VOVWORLD) - Farmer Nguyen Van Bay from the Southern province of Ben Tre is a leader in applying technology in production. Owning a large orchard, he has planted numerous crops under an organic production model.

(VOVWORLD) - Nguyen Linh Vinh Quoc, who has never undergone any formal training in photography, has won numerous photography awards domestically and internationally. His photos are mainly about the culture and environment of the Central Highlands.
