Van Toan, 23, is a key player in Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL)’s lineup, who has scored 7 goals in the V-League this season.

“I’ve been working hard both with HAGL and the national team. I’m proud to be part of the national squad. But it’s also a pressure. I have to practice more,” Van Toan told the media after HAGL’s 2-1 win over SHB Da Nang in the V-League where Toan assisted Chau Ngoc Quang to pick up a goal.

“There are many good strikers on the national team. I must work harder to earn a slot on the field. I’ll do my best to score against Thailand. I’m totally confident in my ability,” said Toan.

Vietnam will face Thailand on September 5.
