(VOVworld) – A ceremony to honor outstanding young soldiers and servicemen of 2013 was held on Tuesday in Hanoi as part of activities to mark the Youth Union’s anniversary on March 26th. Addressing the ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics, highlighted the significance of the event, noting it helps motivate patriotic movements as well as the efficiency of military activities.
The same day, Da Nang City’s Youth Union held a ceremony to mark the occasion and launch youth volunteer activities, while a get-together was held in Bac Lieu province for youth union staff of different periods to meet and recall their good memories.

Da Nang’s Department of Home Affairs and Youth Union held a dialogue on Wednesday on the role of youth in social and economic development. The event was organized to mark the 83rd anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Youth Union. The dialogue focused on economic development, social welfare and building an administration and policies related to young people, such as employment and human resource development. Nguyen Duc Tien is Secretary of Da Nang university’s Youth Union: "The dialogue is a chance for youth union members to share their thoughts with the municipal leaders. We hope the municipal authorities will inform us about their thoughts and plans to develop the city so that the youth can contribute to this effort".
