(VOVworld) – People in Hanoi celebrated the New Year’s Eve with a brilliant fireworks display. Thousands of people watched the fireworks together in the wonderful moment to welcome the new lunar year. Ngo Ngoc Dien of Ba Dinh district has a wish for the new year. "Like other Vietnamese, we wish for good health, happy family, and a lot of luck. In the new year, I hope the economy will develop further so people’s lives will be better than in the previous year."


Fireworks display on Hoan Kiem lake, Hanoi

In the central province of Thua Thien – Hue, thousands of people welcomed the New Year’s Eve at Ngo Mon square by the Huong river. The performance of Hue’s Royal Court music opened a gala night to celebrate a new year and new spring.

Da Nang city organized art performances at 28 public places. The city fired 2,000 fireworks in 15 minutes to generate a jubilant atmosphere.

People in Ho Chi Minh City had a sleepless night to enjoy a colorful fireworks display at 6 public places. Tran Thi Thanh Thuy went to Nguyen Hue Flower Street to celebrate the New Year’s Eve. "It’s a fantastic place to welcome the New Year. Foreign tourists also feel excited. The city has changed positively. Roads have been expanded and many high-rise buildings have been built. I wish people a peaceful new year and the city will develop further."


Colorful fireworks in Ho Chi Minh city

People in the northwestern provinces of Lao Cai, Dien Bien, and Lai Chau enjoyed beautiful fireworks in many places including remote communes of ethnic minority people.

The Southernmost province of Ca Mau has been decorated with color lights, flowers, and banners to welcome to the new year. The province was lighted up with fireworks in many places.
