(VOVWORLD) - 73 traditional craft villages in Phu Tho have been recognized and restored by provincial People’s Committee. The villages have helped to restructure the workforce and increase locals’ income. Amid the current development trend, craft villages have invested much in scientific and technological applications to improve product quality and enhance coordination among farmers, the state, scientists, and businesses.

(VOVWORLD) - Located in Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City, Nam O has long been famous for its fish sauce. Founded in the early 20th century, the village is now facing a lack of land on which to build workshops. VOV’s correspondent in the central region reports on how villagers are preserving their traditional craft.

(VOVWORLD) - Located in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai province, Tan Van pottery village has been known for its black clay pottery for centuries. The 300-year-old village has sometimes fallen into relative obscurity, but its dedicated potters have done their best to keep their black clay pottery craft alive.

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has about 160,000 Cham ethnic who live in central coastal and southern regions. Wherever they are, they continue to preserve their culture, exemplified by their traditional craft villages. VOV’s Ai Nghiem and Hanipha report on the efforts of the Cham to preserve and develop their craft villages.

(VOVWORLD) - Vu Dai (or Dai Hoang) village in Hoa Hau commune, Ha Nam province, is the home of martyr and writer of Vietnamese realism Nam Cao. It is also famous for several food specialties. Braised fish is one famous local dish. Another is Ngu, or king banana, a nature-bestowed specialty once used as an offering to the king.

(VOVWORLD) - Vu Dai (or Dai Hoang) village in Hoa Hau commune, Ha Nam province, about 100km from Hanoi, is famous for its braised fish, king bananas, and textiles. It is the home of martyr and writer of Vietnamese realism Nam Cao.

(VOVWORLD) - Like other villages in Vietnam, people of Dam village, also known as Bich Tri hamlet, Ha Nam province, mainly live on agricultural production. Located about 70km south of Hanoi, Dam village is famous for making Chung, square sticky rice, cakes and cassava vermicelli.

(VOVWORLD) - Phu Van village has long been famous for growing flowers and ornamental trees. It is the biggest flower growing area in Ha Nam province and planned to become an ecotourism destination.

(VOVWORLD) - Every year on the 8th day of the first lunar month, Phu Gia villagers organize a festival to honor steamed sticky rice. Nobody knows exactly when the dish first became popular in Phu Gia village, which is now in Phu Thuong ward, Hanoi, but it was famous in the Thang Long Imperial Citadel and used to be a dish served to the King on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.

(VOVWORLD) - At 1,000 meters above sea level, Kon Plong district is so suited to growing highly profitable medicinal plants like ginseng, lanthanum, and blackcurrant that it has become identified as one of the key areas in Kon Tum province for medicinal plants. At the beginning of the Lunar New Year, local farmers went to the fields to kick off their 2018 production plan.
