(VOVWORLD) - The mountain district of Duc Linh in Binh Thuan province is encouraging local farmers to grow mulberries and raise silkworms using new techniques and seedlings. Their profitability is three times that of traditional crops.

(VOVWORLD) - Chi commune in Xuan Giang village, Ha Giang province, 300km from Hanoi on provincial highway 183, is attracting a growing number of tourists. Over the years, the commune has been developing community-based tourism to preserve the traditional culture identities of the local ethnic population.

(VOVWORLD) - Located 30km south of Hanoi, Tu Van village in Hanoi’s outlying district of Thuong Tin is famous for embroidery and weaving. It has made millions of national flags for national events. On September 2, 1945, tens of thousands of red flags with a gold star blanketed Ba Dinh Square where President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence. Most were made by Tu Van villagers.

(VOVWORLD) - The community-based model of tourism, known as homestay tourism, is increasingly popular with visitors to Vietnam and, at the same time, helps to promote and preserve the cultures of ethnic minority groups. In Tha hamlet, Ha Giang city, the model has helped the locals improve their lives.

(VOVWORLD) - Banh giay Quan Ganh, a white, flat, round glutinous rice cake with or without green beans inside, is enjoyed by lots of people, both Vietnamese and foreigners. The cake is a specialty of Hanoi. Thuong Dinh village in Hanoi's Thuong Tin District specializes in making the cakes.

(VOVWORLD) - A model of growing safe vegetables and keeping bees has been developed in Quan Ba district, Ha Giang province to help local ethnic people reduce poverty and build a stable income. The model has been working, thanks to favorable soil and climate.

(VOVWORLD) - Four villages in Can Tho city have been recognized as craft villages. They are Thuan Hung rice paper village, Thom Rom fishing net weaving village, Pho Tho - Ba Bo flower village, and Ba Rich confectionary village. Nearly 1,000 households with more than 3,000 workers are engaged in crafts and earn 4.3 million USD per year.

(VOVWORLD) - Ninh Thuan has emerged as an attractive destination for those who want to explore and experience the daily activities of locals. Tourists are instructed to harvest vegetables or grapes, make their own knitted goods, mould animals out of clay, and weave brocade products in traditional craft villages of the Cham people.

(VOVWORLD) - Dong Xam village in Thai Binh province is one of 3 places well-known for the silver carving craft, together with Hang Bac Street and Dinh Cong village in Hanoi. Also known as Duong Tham, the 600-year old village is now located in Hong Thai commune, Kien Xuong district.
