(VOVworld) – This summer, students of Phu Yen Pedagogic University joined farmers in the mountainous commune of Xuan Lanh, Dong Xuan district, Phu Yen province, as part of a national program of new rural development. VOV’s Lan Anh reports.

(VOVworld) – Gia Lai province is taking the lead in implementing the national new rural development program in the Central Highlands. The province’s 5 communes, some of them categorized as very disadvantaged areas, have all achieved the program’s 19 criteria. This success is attributed to the province’s appropriate combination of old and new methods in new rural development.

(VOVworld) - Located along the Red River and about 10 km from Hanoi, Bat Trang village is home to 1200 households that are mainly involved in the village’s traditional craft of pottery. After 3 years implementing the national new rural development program, the commune has completed 15 of the program’s 19 criteria.

(VOVworld) – Vietnam’s national program on new rural development has gone one third of its way. The program’s steering committee reports that greater public awareness of the program’s importance is the number one achievement of the past 3 years. Rural households, even in remote mountainous areas, are now willing to donate some of their farm land to the rural development task of upgrading the local infrastructure.

(VOVworld) – Tan Trao, the former revolutionary base in Tuyen Quang province, comprises approximately 1000 households of 5 ethnic minorities: Tay, Nung, Dao, Cao Lan, and Kinh, who are all embracing the national new rural development program thanks to efforts of local authorities to raise public awareness of the program’s importance. (VOVworld) – In the past 3 years, Dak Lak province’s Cu M’ga district has succeeded in restructuring its crops and applying advanced agricultural technoly to sustainably improve local productivity. (VOVworld) – New asphalted roads, cemented lanes, schools, and healthcare centers have breathed new lives into 25 communes in Tay Ninh province that have been selected for implementing a national rural development program. As well as upgraded infrastructure, the local people there are enjoying much better living standards thanks to the joint efforts of the local authorities and people in making use of every possible resource for local community development. (VOVworld) – Don Duong district is the largest organic vegetable growing area of Lam Dong province. As part of efforts to implement a national program on new rural development, the local authorities have applied new modern technologies in agricultural production to improve their products’ quality, thus contributing to the local socio-economic development.

(VOVworld) – Thuy Ninh is one of 16 communes of Thai Binh province’s Thai Thuy district that are completing their final criteria of the national program of new rural development this year. With the local infrastructure basically completed, Thuy Ninh communal authorities are now focusing on improving production and local people’s living conditions.
