Nguyen Minh Khiem of Thanh Hoa province will never forget the feeling of listening to President Ho Chi Minh’s New Year poem.
“People in our village gathered under the public loudspeaker to listen to President Ho Chi Minh’s poem. We eagerly awaited that moment”, Mr. Khiem said.
For veteran and poet Nguyen Trong Tao, President Ho Chi Minh’s New Year poems still echo today.
“When I joined the army in 1969, a song set to President Ho Chi Minh’s poem was heard all along our march. It was like a star guiding our fight for national unification”, Mr. Tao said.
