Iran says it seeks no war with US amid rising regional tensions

(VOVWORLD) - Iran has never sought war with the US and has no intention to do so, President Masoud Pezeshkian told Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in a phone call on Saturday, adding that conflict would benefit neither Iran, the US, nor the wider region.

A day earlier, Pezeshkian also spoke by phone with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to discuss escalating military tensions in the Middle East, amid a heavy US military presence and increasingly sharp rhetoric from Washington.

Meanwhile, Iran’s senior security official Ali Larijani announced that Iran has begun drafting a framework for potential negotiations with the US, without providing further details.
