The top legislator on Friday received a delegation of the US Congress, led by Senator Mike Crapo, who are on a working visit to Vietnam.

National Assembly Chairman Hue suggested that the US Congress continue to support the maintenance of stable and long-term trade relations between the two countries and continue to create favorable conditions for imports of Vietnamese agricultural products such as pangasius, shrimp, and fruits. He urged the US to recognize Vietnam's market economy status.

Chairman Hue welcomed the two sides' cooperation within the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) discussion and suggested that the US focus on technical cooperation and capacity building for developing countries, including Vietnam, during the discussion and enforcement of agreements reached within the framework of IPEF.

Senator Crapo said he will convey the NA Chairman's message to the President of the United States, the Congress and negotiators when it comes to continued US involvement in securing market access and negotiate free trade deals such as the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), as well as bilateral trade agreements.
