In an article titled "New Momentum for Cambodia-Vietnam Relations," AKP gave wide coverage of the meeting between General Secretary Lam and President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) Samdech Techo Hun Sen. Both sides said that the relationship between the two Parties is the foundation guiding the overall Vietnam-Cambodia relationship.
The meeting between the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Standing Board of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party was of great significance, creating a solid political foundation, guiding relations and resolving a number of specific issues between the two countries.
The article stated that both sides committed to strengthening investment, trade, and tourism promotion activities and striving to increase bilateral trade to 20 billion USD in the near future.
Cambodia and Vietnam have agreed to closely coordinate and support each other in regional and global forums, particularly within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the Mekong Subregion cooperation framework. The Cambodian national news agency expressed its hope that General Secretary To Lam's State visit will open a new phase of development for relations between Vietnam and Cambodia.
