Vietnam-Mozambique Joint Communique

A joint communiqué released at the end of 3-day visit said Presidents Truong Tan Sang and Filipe Nyusi agreed to increase delegation exchanges and expand cooperation in agriculture, aquaculture, maritime transport, aviation, education, training, health care, science, technology, national defense, and security, and exchange experience in overcoming natural disaster consequences. They agreed to encourage their enterprises to establish partnership in agriculture, infrastructure, trade, telecommunications, oil, gas, and processing industry. They agreed to increase two-way trade to more than 500 million USD by 2020. Mozambique pledged to facilitate and assist Vietnamese enterprises like Viettel, Petro Vietnam and Hapro to expand investment and seek business opportunities in Mozambique. The two countries agreed to increase consultation and coordination over multilateral issues for the benefits of developing countries. Vietnam appreciated Mozambique’s support for Vietnam at the UN and in other international organizations. Vietnam acknowledged Mozambique’s contributions to resolving global and African issues and to peace, stability in southern Africa.

The two countries affirmed their determination to promoting peace and security in the region and the world based on the UN Charter and international law. On that spirit, the two sides agreed on the importance of resolving disputes through peaceful means.
