Party leader Lam said the adoption of the Joint Statement by the two countries' senior leaders on the establishment of the Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Azerbaijan is a historic milestone, opening a new era in the bilateral relationship.

This will create a strong driving force towards more substantive and effective cooperation, especially in economy, trade, investment, energy, defense, education, culture, people-to-people exchange, he added.

Prime Minister Asadov said Azerbaijan attaches importance to developing multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam and considers Vietnam one of the top priority partners in the Southeast Asian region.

At the meeting, the two leaders agreed to promote the role of the two countries' parliaments in coordinating, supporting and urging ministries and sectors to bolster bilateral economic, trade and investment cooperation.
