Orban said that he rejects the use of Hungary’s funds for aid to Ukraine, especially in light of recent corruption scandals in Kyiv.
He further stated that the idea of joint EU borrowing is unreasonable, as it would impose a debt burden on future generations without delivering clear benefits.
Hungary also argued that the proposal to use Russia’s frozen assets to finance Ukraine is inappropriate, as it would undermine the entire global economic system as well as international frameworks for managing foreign exchange reserves.
