Earlier, a senior Iranian official confirmed to Reuters that Iran is agreeing to a Qatar-mediated, US-proposed ceasefire with Israel.
According to the Iranian official, Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani secured Tehran’s agreement to the US proposal for a ceasefire during a call with Iranian officials.
The call took place Monday evening after Iran struck a US air base in Qatar in retaliation for last weekend’s attacks by the US on Iranian nuclear facilities.
