According to Yuriy Ihnat, head of the Ukrainian Air Force’s communications department, this was the “largest-scale airstrike” against Kyiv, considering the number of drones and missiles.
In his post on X after the airstrikes, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on Western countries to increase support for his country's air defense system, while reiterating his desire to buy the US-made Patriot missile defense system.
The same day, the Russian military said that more than 24,000 residents of the Russian-annexed Lugansk region had lost power due to drone attacks from Ukraine. The attacks killed one woman and injured another.
