Prime Minister Chính informed the ANC leader that Vietnam and South Africa officially upgrades bilateral ties to a Strategic Partnership during his visit, calling on the ANC to help promote concrete actions by South African ministries and agencies to realize this new cooperation framework.
Regarding cooperation between the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the ANC, the Prime Minister urged effective implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in May 2025, including strengthening delegation exchanges, especially at high levels, and expanding experience-sharing in leadership, Party building and addressing socio-economic issues.
He also highlighted the need to boost economic, trade and investment cooperation.
Secretary-General Mbalula said Vietnam is an inspiring development model for many developing countries and agreed on measures to advance bilateral ties, including greater economic cooperation, cultural exchanges and stronger coordination at multilateral forums.
Later the same day in Pretoria, Prime Minister Chính, his spouse and the high-level Vietnamese delegation met with the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and members of the Vietnamese community in South Africa.
