The number of visitors to Son La has increased from 2.5 million in 2019 to nearly 5 million in 2023 with a revenue of nearly 230 million USD.
Speaking at the event, Trang Thi Xuan, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Son La provincial People's Committee, urged organizations and individuals to continue developing tourism in a strategic and focused manner.
She said: "Departments, agencies, businesses, cooperatives, and individuals engaged in tourism services are urged to effectively implement Conclusion No. 94 of the provincial Party Committee on Son La's tourism development through 2025, with a vision to 2030. Tourism is a key economic sector and we aim to make it a spearhead industry."
On this occasion, Son La launched the smart tourism platform called "Son La Tour," making it one of the first localities to implement comprehensive digital transformation in tourism under a two-tier local government model.
