Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, and Permanent Member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu sent congratulatory flowers.
In his address, General Secretary and President Lam asked Military Region 1 to continue to thoroughly study the Party's guidelines and viewpoints on military affairs, national defense, and Fatherland protection. He stressed the need to firmly grasp the local area, make early predictions, accurately assess the situation, and provide timely advice in any situation.
The top leader urged the building of a more solid defense zone within the Military Region, combing national defense with security, foreign affairs, and socio-economic development, protecting sovereignty, borders, and peace, and firmly securing the people's support from early on, from afar, and from the grassroots.
“Continue building the armed forces towards a lean, efficient, strong, revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern force; master weapons and technical equipment; improve the quality of training, exercises, command level, mobility, and combat effectiveness in all terrain and weather conditions, especially in border areas, remote areas, and areas inhabited by ethnic minorities. It’s imperative to reinforce the people's support, which is the deepest and most sustainable foundation of the strength of the all-people national defense,” Mr. Lam said.
The General Secretary and President requested increased production, practicing thrift, and effectively using weapons and technical equipment; proactively researching and applying science and technology, digital transformation, and technical innovation. He emphasized enhancing the capacity to ensure readiness in new combat conditions, in civil defense, in search and rescue, and in responding to natural disasters and epidemics.
