During the meeting, Prime Minister Chinh urged the two sides to accelerate cooperation in agriculture, particularly in banana and tea cultivation, rice production, and aquaculture.

Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb noted Algeria’s large demand for rice and its full reliance on imports. He expressed Algeria’s desire to launch joint projects with Vietnam, saying Algeria is ready to allocate land in eastern Algeria where soil conditions are favorable for Vietnamese investors.

The two leaders also asked the two countries' agencies and businesses to immediately study cooperation opportunities in energy, petrochemical and polymer fiber production, and the development of 5G products and network infrastructure.

The two Prime Ministers assigned the Intergovernmental Committee, which was recently upgraded to be co-chaired by the foreign ministers, to hold regular meetings to review progress and push forward cooperation projects.

The same day, senior officials from both sides including representatives from the Ministries of Agriculture and Environment, Industry and Trade, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN), and the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters held working sessions with Algerian partners to discuss concrete prospects for cooperation across various sectors.
