The event was co-organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Participants shared their experiences with the OCOP models and discussed its role in transforming food systems to become more sustainable and resilient. They also explored the application of science and technology in agriculture.
Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam called for stronger South–South cooperation to jointly develop the OCOP program in line with FAO’s “Four Betters” goals: Better Production, Better Nutrition, a Better Life, and a Better Environment.
“To turn these directions into reality, we call for strong support from international organizations, financial institutions, and both bilateral and multilateral development partners to promote South–South cooperation and assist countries in effectively implementing the OCOP program for a dynamic, inclusive, culturally rich, and sustainable agriculture,” he said.
Vietnam currently has over 16,800 OCOP products rated three stars or higher.
