Mr. Chinh, in South Africa for the G20 Summit and bilateral activities, called on the business communities of both countries to deepen investment and cooperation.

“We will invest in sectors where we have strengths, such as agriculture and agricultural product manufacturing,” he said. “Vietnamese enterprises will come to South Africa to produce and export rice directly from here, targeting Africa’s market of more than one billion people. We will also continue cooperation in mining, oil and gas, electronics, textiles and garments, leather and footwear.”

The Vietnamese PM also urged South Africa to invest in new growth drivers including innovation, the green economy, and the creative economy. He proposed elevating the Inter-Governmental Committee co-chaired by the two countries’ foreign ministers.

On this occasion, PM Chinh and Vice President Mashatile witnessed the signing of multiple cooperation agreements in strategic defense technologies, tourism, and air transport.
