During the meeting, Mr. Lam highlighted the increasingly substantive and effective cooperation between the two countries across multiple fields. China is Vietnam’s largest trading partner, while Vietnam is China’s fourth-largest trading partner globally. Cooperation in defense and security, investment, transport connectivity, people-to-people exchanges and local-level ties has yielded positive results, bringing bilateral relations to their most comprehensive level in decades, he said.
On the same day, the Vietnamese top leader visited the Museum of the Communist Party of China. After touring the exhibitions, he noted that Vietnam is building the Museum of the Communist Party of Vietnam in Hanoi, scheduled to be completed in time for the Party’s centennial in 2030.
In the evening, a Vietnam-China friendship art program was held to welcome Party leader and President Lam’s visit and mark the upcoming Vietnam-China Tourism Cooperation Year 2026-2027.
