In his address at the online Asia Zero-Emission Community (AZEC) Plus Summit on energy resilience presided by Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae, PM Hung proposed three orientations for cooperation to address energy challenges and strengthen supply chains.
"First, in the short term, countries should strengthen cooperation and policy coordination to diversify energy supply, facilitate trade and maintain stable and undisrupted supply chains, particularly for energy and food. Second, in the medium and long term, it's necessary to boost strategic self-reliance and resilience of economy to the development of a synchronized energy infrastructure, improvement of strategic resources and promotion of technology transfer. Third, we need to expedite the effective and substantive implementation of cooperation projects under AZEC framework based on the capacity and practical situation of each country," PM Hung added.
He said Vietnam is committed to active, substantive, and close cooperation with Japan and other partners to effectively implement AZEC initiatives.
The online summit discussed solutions to energy supply chain disruption and ensure energy security for Asian countries amid supply disruption. Prime Minister Takaichi announced that Japan will allocate 10 billion USD to help diversify energy supplies for Asian countries, focusing on urgent response measures such as procurement and maintaining supply chains, as well as strengthening long-term economic and energy resilience.
