(VOVworld) – The Thai Binh province, known as Vietnam’s northern granary, has scored some significant achievements in new rural development through a program that was piloted in 8 communes for 3 years and has been implemented throughout the province for a year. Almost all phases of agricultural production have been mechanized resulting in measurable economic efficiencies.

(VOVworld) – Since the National Targets Program on New Rural Development went into operation a year ago, many communes in the central province of Binh Dinh have had a facelift. Worthy of note is that the local villagers are in control of the program. The initial results are attributed to the consensus shown amongst the local community.

(VOVworld) – The Central Highlands province of Kon Tum is home to 588 communes of ethnic minorities still facing many difficulties. Over the last years, thanks to local aid, 505 communal houses have either been restored or newly built and have become cultural centers for village communities. The success of the restoration project has become a suggestion for the province to encourage villagers simultaneously adopt a new rural development program.

(VOVworld) - The mountainous district of Nam Dong in Thua Thien Hue province has a population of nearly 45,000 people, most of them are Co Tu ethnic. Nam Dong has been chosen to pilot a program to develop new rural areas until 2015 and the response from local people has been very encouraging. (VOV) – After the National Target Program on New Rural Development was implemented 2 years ago, the northern province of Ninh Binh has tried all villages will complete programming on new rural areas and by 2015, 25 communes will satisfy new rural norms. To realize this goal, the provincial People’s Committee has defined increased communications one of major tasks to create consensus among local people. VOV reporter gives the details there.

(VOVworld) - Statistics released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development show that last year, 6,400 farmers from 12 of the 13 Mekong River Delta provinces are working together to grow bigger fields of rice on 7,800 hectares. An Giang took the lead in the pilot program with 4,000 ha. The initial success shown by An Giang and other provinces in the region have ensured national food security and contributed to 90% of the country’s exports last year. People in Song Phuong commune, a farming village on the outskirts of Hanoi, are typical.
