(VOVworld) - Statistics released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development show that last year, 6,400 farmers from 12 of the 13 Mekong River Delta provinces are working together to grow bigger fields of rice on 7,800 hectares. An Giang took the lead in the pilot program with 4,000 ha. The initial success shown by An Giang and other provinces in the region have ensured national food security and contributed to 90% of the country’s exports last year. To achieve this, vocation training for rural workers needs to be prioritized. However a project on vocational training for rural workers until 2020, known as Project 1956 has been underway for more than 2 years in many provinces nationwide.

This is an important phase in establishing a stable and long-term agricultural production zone and a decisive factor in boosting agricultural production. Today, we’ll look at a movement to restructure farm land in Hanoi.

To date, 60% of the total communes nationwide have completed their master-plans. Vinh Phuc, and Thai Binh in the north and An Giang in the south have finalized detailed plans for production zones and commune centers. VOV now delves into the issue.

The measures aim to ensure that 20% of all communes nationwide will conform to the new standards on rural affairs and 50% of all villages by 2020.
