(VOVWORLD) - The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam continued its full-day working session on Thursday, focusing on personnel work for the 14th Party Central Committee.

General Secretary To Lam, Chairman of the Presidium, chaired the session on behalf of the Presidium. Le Minh Hung, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission, presented the report of the 13th Party Central Committee on personnel work for the 14th Party Central Committee on behalf of the Presidium.
The Congress discussed and voted to approve the number of members of the 14th Party Central Committee – 200, including 180 full members and 20 alternate members.
Delegates worked in groups to discuss the personnel report, self-nominate and nominate candidates, and review relevant documents and personnel dossiers. Then the Presidium heard reports from delegation heads on the outcomes of the group discussions, self-nominations and nominations, and cases of withdrawals from the Party Central Committee candidate list.
The Presidium then reported to the Congress, which voted to approve the official list of candidates for the 14th Party Central Committee, elected a Vote Counting Committee, and received guidance on voting procedures.
The Congress proceeded with ballot marking, vote counting, announced the results, and approved the list of elected members of the 14th Party Central Committee.
On Friday morning, the 14th Party Central Committee will convene its first plenary session. In the afternoon, the Congress will hold its closing session.
