Upon opening, the airport will serve flights operated by domestic airlines VietJet Air and Vietnam Airlines between Van Don and Ho Chi Minh City from Tuesdays to Sundays.
VietJet Air’s Flight VJ230 from Ho Chi Minh City is the first to land at Van Don International Airport on the morning of March 3, with 41 passengers onboard.
Due to the previous outbreak at the airport, a range of COVID-19 prevention measures are strictly implemented.

Along with welcoming the return of passengers, all restaurants at the airport also reopen in order to serve travelers.
Passengers must undergo a body temperature check before being permitted to enter the restaurants.
