This is the first time the group has used air freight to import Vietnamese agricultural products, amid ongoing volatility in the Middle Eastern shipping supply chains.

Despite higher costs, Lulu opted for air transport to ensure a stable supply for its distribution network, while reaffirming its commitment to bringing Vietnamese farm produce to the Middle Easte market.

The shipment includes a variety of fresh fruits from Vietnam’s southern region, such as lemons, dragon fruit, pomelo, and jackfruit.

In the Middle East, Vietnamese agricultural products continue to gain strong market presence through Lulu’s supermarket system, one of the region’s largest retail networks.

According to Lulu, Vietnam’s fresh produce and processed foods are highly regarded for their quality, with cashew nuts, coffee, and spices particularly favored by consumers.

Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, Lulu Group International operates a network of hypermarkets and retail companies in 23 countries in the Middle East, Asia, and Europe, generating annual revenues of over 8 billion USD.
