This is not the first time noyb has taken legal action against them. In January, it filed similar complaints against the same platforms, as well as Shein, Temu, and Xiaomi, alleging that user data was being unlawfully transferred outside the EU.

While Shein, Temu, and Xiaomi have since provided additional information, noyb said TikTok, AliExpress, and WeChat had failed to take action.

As a result, noyb has now escalated the matter by filing complaints with national data protection authorities—TikTok in Greece, AliExpress in Belgium, and WeChat in the Netherlands—calling for financial penalties and enforcement.

Noyb also filed multiple complaints against major tech companies, including Meta and Google, over alleged General Data Protection Regulation violations.
