The next phase of the plan proposed by US President Donald Trump to end the Gaza conflict includes the disarmament of Hamas, Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza, and the deployment of an international peacekeeping force. Hamas has reiterated that it will not lay down its weapons while Israeli forces continue to occupy Palestinian territories. Israeli officials said the country is preparing for a possible return to full-scale war.

At least 580 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire agreement was signed in October 2025.
