According to the Ministry, the pandemic is basically under control in Vietnam, but the two new variants have been detected in several places.

The Ministry has advised provinces and cities to carry out all pandemic prevention and control measures recommended by the Government and the Prime Minister.

Local Departments of Health have been asked to work with the Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology and the Pasteur Institute to carry out sampling and sequencing of genes to early detect dangerous new variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
