In a social media post on Saturday, Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky announced that the delegation will be led by Rustem Umerov, Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council.
Umerov's appointment follows the resignation of Zelensky's Chief of Staff, Andriy Yermak, who was forced to step down on Friday amid a corruption scandal. Yermak was previously regarded as a key figure in Ukraine's critical negotiations with Western partners.
The primary mission of the delegation is to "swiftly and substantively work out the steps needed to end the war," President Zelensky said, adding that Ukraine remains committed to working with the US in the most constructive way possible.
The delegation also includes Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine's military intelligence, and Andrii Hnatov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ukrainian officials are scheduled to meet with President Donald Trump's envoy, Steve Witkoff, and the President's son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
