The statement was made on Sunday evening by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), just hours after President Trump announced a 24-hour extension for Iran to reopen the waterway. The IRGC Navy Command said the strait will never return to its pre-conflict state, particularly for the US and Israel. It said plans for a new order in the Persian Gulf will soon be unveiled by the Iranian government.

The shutdown has reduced global energy supplies, driven fuel prices sharply higher, and placed significant pressure on economies worldwide.
