Grossi was speaking after holding talks in Moscow with Alexei Likhachev, head of Russian nuclear corporation Rosatom. At the meeting, Grossi reaffirmed the IAEA’s continued support for staff at Zaporizhzhia to maintain the plant’s safe and stable operation. He added that another rotation of IAEA personnel at the Zaporizhia plant is expected to take place soon.
Likhachev said the talks focused on the further development of nuclear technologies. Russia intends to increase its participation in various international nuclear projects, he said and expressed willingness to inform the global community about plans for Moscow’s development of nuclear energy.
