IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said net exports constituted 1.1% of China's 5% growth for this year, adding that the Chinese economy is on course to contribute 30% of global growth.
The IMF also lifted its forecast for China’s 2026 growth to 4.5%, an increase of 0.3 percentage points from its previous projection.
At the IMF’s concluding meeting, Georgieva urged Beijing to make “brave choices” by pushing ahead with reforms aimed at reducing its dependence on exports and shifting toward a domestic consumption-led model.
