International partners cooperate to enhance Vietnam’s capacity for disaster risk reduction

(VOVWORLD) - UNESCO and Japan on Thursday signed the project “Strengthening Vietnam’s capacity in early warnings, disaster risk reduction and safer learning environments”, seeking to address critical gaps in real-time monitoring, early warning dissemination, and local response capacity.

With a budget of over 530,000 USD, the one-year project will focus its activities in Nghe An province.

Specific activities include updating flash flood and landslide risk maps, training a core group of educators, and piloting these approaches in schools located in high-risk areas.
