Vietnam has to date detected the occurrence of Omicron sub-variants BA.4 (3 cases) and BA.5 (4 cases) in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho.

The Ministry of Health has coordinated with the Institutes of Hygiene and Epidemiology to monitor the circulation of sub-variants. According to the monitoring system's report, BA.2 is still the dominant variant in the community.
