The two-day visit is made at the invitation of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and his wife.
This is one of Vietnam's momentous foreign affairs activities in 2025 and is also the first State visit to Laos by General Secretary To Lam in his new position. The trip continues to affirm the determination of the leaders of the two Parties and two countries to inherit and promote the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in line with the requirements, visions and strategic interests of the two countries in the new period.
The Laos-Vietnam Friendship Cultural Program was held in Vientiane on Sunday to mark the 50th anniversary of Laos' National Day (December 2). Attending the program were Party General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, plus senior leaders of the Lao Party, State, ministries and sectors and Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam.
The performances elaborately staged by Lao artists, with the participation of artists from Vietnam, praised President Kaysone Phomvihane and honored the country and people of Laos in the journey of nearly 40 years of renewal and 50 years of construction. Vietnamese and Lao artists’ performances cherished the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
