The Party chief suggested that the two countries ramp up maritime cooperation, including illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing prevention and climate change response.
Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah wished to further the Comprehensive Partnership between Brunei and Vietnam. He emphasized that Vietnam is an important trade partner and expressed a desire to boost cooperation in agriculture, Halal industry, and encouraged Vietnamese enterprises to expand cooperation in the oil and gas sector, as well as people-to-people exchanges through scholarship and training programs.

Discussing the future cooperation orientation, the two leaders agreed to enhance political trust; promote and facilitate trade and investment activities, boost connectivity, support businesses; unlock the potential for cooperation between the two countries in agriculture, fisheries, Halal, culture, tourism and people-to-people exchange.
The two sides pledged to continue to coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums, especially ASEAN and the UN.
