In his address to more than 500 domestic and international delegates at the Vietnam Logistics Forum 2025 in Da Nang city on Saturday, PM Chinh stated that Vietnam has advantages in terms of geo-political and geo-economic position, and investment in logistics remains fragmented and inadequate, so there’s ample room for the logistics industry’s development.
To achieve the target of 10% growth in the next five years, the Government has set major tasks for the logistics industry. They include logistics value added reaching 6-7% of GDP; average annual growth of 15-16%; and logistics costs falling to the global average of about 11% of GDP.
“Efforts should be made to developing "green", "digital", and "smart" logistics infrastructure. "Green" means sustainable and humane development. "Digital" means fast and modern development. Logistics databases are connected. International cooperation on green and low-carbon logistics must be strengthened and a high value-added ratio of about 20-25% must be maintained by 2030 according to the promulgated strategy,” Prime Minister Chinh said.
The Prime Minister stressed the need to accelerate training to build a green logistics workforce and encouraged the growth of multinational logistics firms to join global value chains. He called for mechanisms to mobilize resources for green, digital and modern logistics infrastructure.
In 2025, Vietnam is ranked by international organizations in the Top 10 emerging logistics markets; Top 5 in Southeast Asia and Top 40 in the world in terms of logistics efficiency index.
